Sing Along ABBA: Live

Sing Along ABBA: Live

Sing Along ABBA: Live is a show-in-a-box that I produced with my collegue Mark Baker while working at Victoria Hall. Since premiering the show in April 2016, it has been performed four separate times under three different companies. Technically, it is a very simple show, which I think makes it quite interesting.

The tech setup for the show is a PA with three (or four) mics, one stereo jack input, my MacBook, a QLab project and a projector (or screen).

  • QLab fires off Lyric Videos that I made which display words on the projector screen (hence "Sing Along")
  • Two (or three) performers perform the songs and interract with the audience (hence "Live")
  • Oh, and the songs are all ABBA (hence "ABBA")
Making the lyric videos: a great test of my final cut skills!

Party Bags can be added with fun props for the audience to join in with (I mean, who doesn't want to throw some fake money around while singing "Money Money Money" after a few wines?)

Costumes of various levels of rediculousness can be added for effect and that feeling of authenticity, as well as flashing lights and mirror balls. It is a wonderfully expandable (or collapsable) show-in-a-box. Oh, and it's a lot of fun!
